Friday Favorites: Shortbread, Omelets, and “Noms”

Fall in the Garden

Let’s give this Friday Favorites thing a try. A couple of my favorite things from my kitchen and around the internets this week.

I’m cutting out and baking these delicate little shortbread today for a benefit tea tomorrow. I added nutmeg to the recipe instead of the vanilla bean, since my beans seem to be hiding. The sweet aroma of cookies and nutmeg is making me anxious for the holidays.

In the October issue of Bon Appetit, Editor in Cheif Adam Rapoport talks about his affinity for the omelet. He mastered the technique by 14 and was using it to impress the girls. So, I figured if it worked for him it would work for me. I impressed my wife with an amazing omelet. She even bragged about me and my omelet on Facebook. I think it worked.

Speaking of impressed, if you haven’t seem this foodie music video you should make a point of doing so post hast!

On a completely unrelated note, last night I painted my fingernails this daring deep plum color. I was a little unsure when I went to bed, but this morning I’m kind of in love with it.

Enjoy this fall weekend!!
